Change of Address

Q.

How do I change my address?

A.

If you are in receipt of a Sainsbury's Pension you need to write to Towers Watson at Sainsbury's Pensions Team, Towers Watson, PO Box 545, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 1YX

You also need to update HR Services Admin who deal with The News magazine by emailing Veteran.support@Sainsburys.co.uk with address changes as well.

I have lost my Discount Card, how do I get a new one?

My Discount Card is not working, can I get a replacement?

A.

How do I register my discount card for grocery shopping on-line?

A.

To register your discount card for online shopping, please complete the link below. Your request will be actioned within 5 working days by the Sainsbury's online team.

Q.

Do I get a discount at Argos?

A.

Any colleague who becomes a Sainsbury's Veteran will be eligible to continue to receive discount at Argos and Habitat. For online discount to apply you will need to access the link below which will request discount online at Argos. Once completed Manchester will respond to the veteran with a confirmation email.

If you are registering for the first time, please create an Argos.co.uk account. Once you have an Argos account, complete the details in the link above the Veterans support team can set up your discount.  An email to confirm that your account has been linked will be sent.

Q.

I can no longer use my discount card, do I miss out on this benefit completely?

A.

No, if for any reason you are unable to use your discount card you can surrender your card, by sending it to HR Admin - Veterans, 18th floor, Arndale House, Arndale Centre, Manchester, M4 3AL, and you will receive a Christmas gift of a £25 gift card each year instead

What happens if I am housebound through ill health and I do not have a spouse/civil partner who can do my shopping?

A.

You can apply via HR Services Admin for a 'house bound authorisation to shop card', asking for permission for a relative or carer to shop on your behalf. Discounts must only be claimed against your personal shopping. Email HR Services at Veteran.support@sainsburys.co.uk or telephone 0161 605 6520

Reporting bereavement

Q.

My husband/wife/mother/father has passed away, who should I report it to?

A.

If the deceased was in receipt of a Company Pension you will need to contact Towers Watson on 0800 916 8087. The contact must be the next of kin or family member.

If the deceased was a Company Veteran but not in receipt of a Sainsbury's pension you need to email the HR Admin team at veteran.Support@sainsburys.co.uk

If the deceased was the spouse of a Company Veteran please contact the team on the above E-mail address to ensure records are up-to-date.

Any query regarding shares of the deceased should be made to Shareholders Services on 020 7695 4018.

Lost Nectar Card

Q.

How do I get a new Nectar Card?

A.

You must contact the Nectar department direct on 0344 811 0811. Nectar cards are a Customer card and security questions were set up when the cards were originally issued.

Local Associations

Q.

I have moved and I would like to know if there is a Local Association in my area?

A.

You can see if there is a local association in your new area by visiting the Regions section of the www.sainsburysveterans.co.uk website. If still unsure please contact HR Services Admin by email at  Veteran.support@sainsburys.co.uk

Q.

I did not qualify to become a Veteran can I still join my local association?

A.

All ex-colleagues will receive a warm welcome from the local associations, you do not have to have qualified to become a Veteran to join.  Please locate your local group on the Regions map on this website, go to their page for more details.

If I commute my pension to a one-off lump-sum, will I still be entitled to the Veteran benefits, including my discount card?

 Yes, the benefits of the Veterans Association are not related to  receipt of a monthly Company Pension
