IMPORTANT: Pension increase letters

We apologise that last week, pensioners of the Sainsbury’s Pension Scheme received their annual pension increase letters from the Scheme administrator, Willis Towers Watson (WTW) later than usual. The Pensions Department have also been contacted about a line in the letter stating that ‘from 2023, pension increase letters will only be available online’.
This statement was inaccurate. Instead, from next year, members who have registered for WTW’s secure member website, My Pension, will receive their pension increase letter and any communication from the Scheme electronically, where the Scheme holds a valid email address.
The Trustee took this decision to be aligned with the Company’s net zero target and have had positive feedback from a sample of members who received their 2021 newsletter in this way, and it will also help to reduce the Scheme’s carbon footprint.
My Pension provides a full digital service to Sainsbury’s Pension Scheme members, who can view their pension benefits and details (payslips, P60s) online whenever they want – helping the Scheme to reduce its paper consumption.
If you would like to help the Scheme reduce its environmental impact but you haven’t signed up yet for My Pension, it takes just a few minutes to set up. You will need the login ID and password which WTW sent to you previously. However, if you’ve misplaced this and have logged on before, you can use the ID reminder or reset your password services. Otherwise, you can use the account recovery service (for UK resident members).
