How much for that doggy? east colchester Colchester welcomed the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association instore recently, helping to raise more than £285. This boosted the total already reached after other great fundraising events – so far the team has collected a whopping £2,000 this year for its Local Charity. “Customers, colleagues and the Guide Dog team had a fantastic weekend,” said Kelly Francis. “We had lots of cute guide dog puppies instore, which certainly drew the attention of our customers!” COREYS MILL Colleagues braved the heat to complete a firewalk for a great cause. The fantastic five raised £500 for the Magic of Play Appeal. The money will go towards a new playroom for the children who stay at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage. A few more tasty snippets from across our regions... SSC HOLBORN It was with a song in their hearts that the Corporate Services team struck the right note in the run-up to Christmas. The entire team came together to plan, collect donations and sing some of their favourite Christmas songs in the Holborn atrium for passers-by. What’s more, Jodi Hollingsworth and Dafydd Pugh from the team were in our Sainsbury’s Choir, and lent their voices to the cause. “We raised more than £400, which was fantastic,” said Jodi. “It will go to our Local Charity, Independent Age, which provides advice, friendship and support to the elderly.” SSC A littl e Christ mas ch eer BANKING ON HELP east hunstanton Customers and colleagues helped to spread some festive joy before Christmas by donating products worth £1,300 to Hunstanton’s foodbank, which helps people in the area who are struggling financially. Colleagues joined volunteers from local churches and other organisations to encourage customers to buy one extra item to go to those who could not afford to buy food for the festive period.
